On February 29th, BYD announced its latest move, leveraging its robust integrated production and sales system. From screws to major components, BYD manufactures everything in-house, giving it full control over pricing. This year, BYD has initiated a second wave of price wars, planning to launch a more cost-effective “Honor Edition” for most of its popular models. The official suggested retail prices for these Honor Editions will see reductions ranging from $2,800 to $4,200 compared to the Champion Editions.
The Song PLUS EV Honor Edition across the range upgrades to the new DiLink smart connectivity system, enhancing intelligent driving assistance, smart technology, and entertainment features. The system supports 5G connectivity, NFC mobile phone keys, ICC intelligent cruise control, and APA fully automatic parking, among other functions.
The Song PLUS EV Honor Edition features a single electric motor drive, offering two power options: a lower-power version with a maximum power of 150kW and peak torque of 310N·m, paired with a 71.8kWh blade battery, achieving a CLTC range of 520km; and a higher-power version with a maximum power of 160kW and peak torque of 330N·m, paired with an 87.04kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery, achieving a CLTC range of 605km.
The design and power of the Han EV Honor Edition remain unchanged, but with improved features. It becomes the first BYD model to be equipped with the “Eye of God” DiPilot 100. This system uses a combination of 5 millimeter-wave radars, 11 various types of cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, along with the Horizon Journey 5 chip with 128TOPS computing power, to enable features like high-speed navigation-assisted driving.
The Han EV Honor Edition adopts the EV Dragon Face front design, with black decorative elements on either side of the front bumper. Its dimensions, 4995/1910/1495mm (L/W/H) with a wheelbase of 2920mm, remain the same as the current model. In addition to introducing a new Silver Glaze White exterior color, the Han EV Honor Edition also offers an exclusive Dusk Purple option, available for an additional $350.
