Xpeng P7+ Pre-sale Begins: Official Launch and Delivery in Early November

“Positioned as a C-segment vehicle with the price of a B-segment car, and featuring advanced intelligent driving, the Xpeng P7+ is now officially open for pre-sale.”

On October 14, at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Xpeng unveiled the P7+, announcing its pre-sale price. It is touted as China’s first AI car, built on Xpeng’s new-generation autonomous driving hardware platform. The P7+ is expected to launch and begin deliveries in China in early November, while international markets may see it roll out next year. So, how does the Xpeng P7+ stand out from other models in its class or price range?

Highlights:

In terms of design, the Xpeng P7+ continues with the family-style “Robot Face” front design, using split headlights paired with a full-width LED light strip and a sleek, flat front profile. The lower body features black cladding to enhance a stylish, sporty look. The car has a coupe-style fastback silhouette, dual-tone body colors, and large wheels. The rear sports a dual-layer spoiler and full-width taillights. With a drag coefficient of just 0.206, it stands out as aerodynamically efficient in its segment.

The P7+ is available in five exterior colors: silver, white, black, purple, and beige. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 5056mm in length, 1937mm in width, and 1512mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm, making it a large mid-size sedan.

The interior retains the familiar minimalist style, with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, a 10.25-inch floating LCD instrument cluster, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen. The dashboard is devoid of physical buttons, with all functions controlled via the touchscreen or voice commands.

All seats are equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The front passenger seat also includes a foldable table for rear passengers. Under the center console are two wireless charging pads, and the cabin features a starry waterfall ambient lighting system, a 2.1-square-meter panoramic sunroof, and a Hi-Fi audio system.

Space:

Rear passengers enjoy 994mm of legroom, 973mm of headroom, and 173mm of knee space. The trunk offers a capacity of 725 liters, expanding to 2221 liters with the rear seats folded down, enough to carry 33 carry-on suitcases.

Intelligent Driving:

The Xpeng P7+ is equipped with the “AI Eagle Eye Vision Driving System,” powered by two Nvidia Orin-X chips with a computing capacity of 508 TOPS. It debuts with the AI Tianji 5.4.0 system, capable of activating XNGP at 0 speed and starting from a standstill. Most notably, the advanced intelligent driving system is standard across all models and is offered entirely for free.

Powertrain:

All versions of the Xpeng P7+ are equipped with a rear-wheel-drive single motor, with two power output options: 180kW and 230kW. The vehicle is powered by two types of lithium iron phosphate battery packs, offering 60.7kWh and 76.3kWh capacities. Depending on the version and wheel configuration, the CLTC driving range varies between 602km, 575km, 710km, and 685km. The top speed reaches 200km/h.

The entire P7+ lineup is built on an 800V pure electric platform, supporting ultra-fast charging, enabling a 300km range with just a 10-minute charge.

The Xpeng P7+ is expected to compete with models such as the Xiaomi SU7, BYD Han EV, and even the Tesla Model 3 in terms of pricing. What do you think of the P7+’s competitive edge?
