New Rival to the Xiaomi SU7? The All-New Zeekr 007 GT Officially Launched
Has the Xiaomi SU7, which has been a hot topic for a year, just met a new challenger? On April 15, Zeekr officially launched its “Tech Shooting Brake Coupe” — the Zeekr 007 GT. The model lineup includes a rear-wheel-drive smart version, a long-range rear-wheel-drive smart version, an all-wheel-drive smart version, and a long-range all-wheel-drive smart version, with a starting price of RMB 199,900.

Compared to the previously underwhelming Zeekr 007, the 007 GT comes with upgraded configurations and a lower price, signaling Zeekr’s renewed push in the compact shooting brake segment.
The basic dimensions of the Zeekr 007 GT are 4864 x 1900 x 1460 mm (LxWxH), with a wheelbase of 2925 mm, which is quite similar to the sedan version of the 007. However, the 007 GT comes standard with an 800V high-voltage architecture and a LiDAR sensor across all variants. It also features a versatile rear trunk space of 645/1737 liters, making it noticeably more practical for daily use compared to typical sedans.

Powered by a 310 kW rear-mounted electric motor and equipped with a 75 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, it supports 5.5C fast charging, delivers 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 5.3 seconds, and offers a CLTC range of 650 km. All versions come standard with electromagnetic active suspension with adjustable damping. Even the entry-level 007 GT variant provides performance and range sufficient for over 90% of users, outperforming the similarly priced Xiaomi SU7 Standard Edition in both specs and features like the 800V platform and LiDAR.

Safety, a key concern for EV buyers, hasn’t been overlooked either. The 007 GT comes standard with a full suite of safety features: front airbags (driver and passenger), front side airbags, side curtain airbags, tire pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and an advanced active safety warning system including lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, door opening warning (DOW), automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and driver fatigue alerts.

As a shooting brake model, the 007 GT also comes with a wider range of exterior features. In addition to essentials like a segmented panoramic roof (non-opening) and roof rails, it includes a standard active grille shutter, frameless doors, and 245/45 R19 wheels as standard. While these may not seem flashy, they genuinely enhance the user experience — a very thoughtful approach.

Zeekr has also made noticeable upgrades to interior comfort. Features like electric adjustment for both front seats, adjustable headrests, lumbar and leg support, heated/ventilated/memory/massage front seats, and even heated rear seats — all come standard. These were previously optional upgrades, making the 007 GT appear more generous compared to the Xiaomi SU7 Standard Edition.

In terms of tech features, the 007 GT now offers full standard equipment even in base models. It includes facial recognition, voice control systems for both front and rear passengers with “what you see is what you say” functionality, simulated engine sound, and even a karaoke mode — perfect for road trips. With 23 speakers including seat-integrated headrest speakers and a 1900W amplifier, it can easily transform into a mobile family KTV.

On the intelligent driving side, the 007 GT is equipped across all trims with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, one LiDAR sensor, and two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-X chips. City and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) are also available as limited-time complimentary features. While the upgraded intelligent driving experience still awaits user feedback, the 007 GT’s surplus computing power and hardware setup already put it ahead of the Xiaomi SU7. Once the software matures, an OTA update could roll it out broadly — very promising.

Since its inception, Zeekr has continued to gain momentum in the NEV (New Energy Vehicle) space with a series of standout models. Now with the competitively priced and well-rounded 007 GT entering the market, Zeekr is poised to secure a strong position in the premium electric coupe segment. Compared to similarly priced competitors like the Xiaomi SU7, the 007 GT appears to offer more sincere value through its richer feature set. As the market continues to test and validate it, this model may well find its niche, striking the right balance between individuality and practicality.
