New Car Release: Pure Electric/Extended Range Power, 6-Seater Mid-Large SUV, Leapmotor C16 Launched
On June 28th, the Leapmotor C16 was officially launched, offering both pure electric and extended range power types, each with three configurations. The extended range version is priced between $22,000 and $25,000, while the pure electric version is priced between $22,500 and $26,000.

In terms of appearance, the Leapmotor C16 adopts the family design language, with an overall shape similar to the C10. The front end features a closed design, equipped with a through-type LED light strip, ventilation openings on both sides of the front bumper, and a black trim panel below. The side profile is smooth, with high-gloss black trim around the window frames and hidden door handles.

In terms of dimensions, the Leapmotor C16 measures 4915/1905/1770 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2825 mm. Compared to the C10, the wheelbase remains unchanged, but the length has increased by 176 mm, the width by 5 mm, and the height by 90 mm. The increased length of the C16 is mainly at the rear. The rear of the car features a through-type light strip, privacy glass for the rear seats and rear windshield, and a hidden rear wiper.

In the interior, the overall layout of the Leapmotor C16 is similar to the C10, equipped with a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating central control screen and a Qualcomm 8295 chip. The passenger instrument panel area provides wireless phone charging and cup holders. The interior adopts a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, with all second-row seats supporting electric adjustment.

The high configuration (Intelligent Driving Edition) mainly enhances intelligent driving capabilities based on the mid configuration (Luxury Edition), equipped with the Leapmotor Pilot advanced intelligent driving assistance system. It features 12 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 1 128-line laser radar, totaling 30 auxiliary driving hardware components, and is equipped with a single NVIDIA Orin X chip, offering 254 TOPS of computing power and supporting 25 auxiliary driving functions.

The pure electric model of the Leapmotor C16 is equipped with an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, with a rear axle drive motor delivering a maximum power of 215 kW and a peak torque of 360 Nm. It is equipped with a 67.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 520 km. The car supports a maximum charging power of 180 kW, taking 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% using DC fast charging, and 6 hours using AC slow charging.

The extended range version of the Leapmotor C16 is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder range extender with a maximum power of 70 kW and a drive motor with a maximum power of 170 kW. This version features a 28.04 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with an official CLTC pure electric range of 200 km and a full fuel and electric range of 1095 km. The CLTC fuel consumption in the lowest state of charge is 5.4 liters per 100 km. Additionally, all models of the Leapmotor C16 are equipped with V2L external discharge function.

If subdivided by power type, the pure electric version of the Leapmotor C16 will compete with models such as the XPeng G9, IM LS6, and Avatr 11, while the extended range version will compete with the Li Auto L6, AITO M7, and Voyah FREE 318.
