On March 28th, the Xiaomi SU7 was officially launched, with a price range of $30,000 to $42,000. As Xiaomi’s first car model, the Xiaomi SU7 is built on the Xiaomi Automobile Modena platform architecture and is positioned as a “C-Class High-Performance Ecological Technology Sedan.” It offers a choice between dual-motor and single-motor versions, with CLTC pure electric ranges of 700km, 800km, and 830km available.
The Xiaomi SU7 offers three range models:
-- The Xiaomi SU7 : Equipped with a 220 kW motor, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.28 seconds and a CLTC pure electric range of 700 kilometers.
-- The Xiaomi SU7 Pro : Equipped with a 220 kW motor, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds and a CLTC pure electric range of 830 kilometers.
The Xiaomi SU7 Max : Equipped with a dual-motor system with a maximum power of 495 kW, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 2.78 seconds and a CLTC pure electric range of 800 kilometers.
The Xiaomi SU7 features a low-profile visual effect in its exterior design, with design characteristics such as a 3x axle ratio, 2x wheel height ratio, and 1.36x width-height ratio. The 1.36x width-height ratio also results in a lower vehicle center of gravity. Both the exterior and interior designs of the Xiaomi SU7 were created by former BMW and Mercedes-Benz designers.
Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 achieves a Cd of 0.195, a super-low drag coefficient, through the use of design elements such as a 28-degree front windshield, 17-degree large sloping roof posture, pebble-shaped rearview mirrors, pebble-shaped laser radar, 17 air outlets throughout the vehicle, and 8 sets of air ducts.
Specifically, the Xiaomi SU7 features water-drop-shaped headlights with a 12-pixel (single-side) matrix adaptive headlight function, supporting ADB functionality. It also includes 8 separate automatic matrix-following front headlights with variable daytime running lights. Furthermore, the front of the car features a silver Xiaomi logo, with the front bumper area incorporating decorative elements in the same color as the body. It’s worth noting that the Xiaomi SU7 Max also offers laser radar, supporting advanced driving assistance features.
On the side, the Xiaomi SU7 features hidden door handles, plum blossom wheels, Michelin PS series high-performance sport tires, Brembo brake calipers, and perforated brake discs, demonstrating a strong sports style. Additionally, cameras are installed below the exterior mirrors and on the front fenders.
The dimensions of the Xiaomi SU7 are 4997/1963/1440 (1455) mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. It is positioned as a medium to large-sized pure electric sedan. Furthermore, the approach and departure angles of the Xiaomi SU7 are 13 degrees and 16 degrees respectively, with front and rear suspensions of 975mm and 1022mm respectively, and front and rear track widths of 1693mm and 1699mm respectively.
The Xiaomi SU7 features a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, equipped with Xiaomi Gale intelligent chassis, CDC variable damping shock absorbers, Bosch ESP10.0 body stability system, Bosch DPB brake controller, Brembo four-piston fixed calipers, and more, with a turning radius of 5.7 meters.
The Xiaomi SU7 adopts an armor-cage-type steel-aluminum hybrid body structure and is equipped with 7 airbags, with 16 active safety features standard across all models.
Based on its “people-centered” cockpit interaction architecture and the Xiaomi Surging OS operating system, the Xiaomi SU7 can achieve comprehensive sharing of ecosystems from hardware to software, evolving into a mobile intelligent space. The cockpit features a 16.1-inch 3K resolution central control screen, a 56-inch HUD, a 7.1-inch flip-up instrument panel, and provides two native car system Xiaomi Pad rear extension screens, matched with the Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip, AI computing power of 30 TOPS, and five-screen linkage capabilities.
The Xiaomi SU7 comes standard with intelligent driving assistance functions, all of which are self-developed technologies. These include national-level highway guidance, one-key valet parking and intelligent parking assistance, and extreme narrow-space parking assistance.
It is reported that the Xiaomi SU7 offers interior color options such as Galaxy Gray, Obsidian Black, Twilight Red, and Misty Purple. It’s worth noting that the front trunk volume of the car is 105 liters, and the rear trunk volume is 517 liters. Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 has 32 storage spaces throughout the car and provides 25 speakers.
Xiaomi SU7 Max is equipped with a 101 kWh battery (Ningde era battery cells), with a range of 510 kilometers in 15 minutes of charging with 800V super-fast charging. Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 offers unlimited customization of driving, including acceleration, steering, suspension height, damping, front and rear drive distribution ratios, energy recovery ratios, and more.
