On the evening of December 2, the flagship SUV from Avatr—Avatr 11—launched its 2025 models. The range-extended version debuts with two variants priced at approximately $40,000. Additionally, there are two pure electric versions and a Royal Theater Edition equipped with triple LiDAR sensors, Huawei’s intelligent driving system, and the HarmonyOS cockpit. These models also feature a premium British Sound System with 25 speakers.
This launch highlights the range-extended versions. While range-extender technology was once considered an outdated method bridging fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles, it has subtly become a sales driver in the market. Li Auto, for instance, has achieved significantly higher sales than many emerging carmakers, thanks to this technology and precise market positioning.
The Avatr 11 range-extended version features a 1.5T Kunlun Intelligent Range Extender system with a maximum power of 115 kW. Key innovations include 500Bar high-pressure direct injection technology and an electronic oil pump, ensuring seamless operation. It delivers exceptional efficiency, with a WLTC fuel consumption of only 6.2L/100km, and supports 92-octane gasoline, making it a cost-effective choice.
Exterior Design
The range-extended version retains Avatr’s signature design aesthetics while introducing subtle refinements compared to the pure electric model. It now features an illuminated logo, a bold C-shaped light strip connecting the front bumper, and a hexagonal black-filled grille for a more imposing visual impact.
In terms of dimensions, the new model measures 4895/1970/1601 mm, with a wheelbase of 2975 mm, adding 15 mm in length compared to the pure electric version.
Interior Design and Features
Inside, the Avatr 11 boasts cutting-edge design. A 15.6-inch floating central control screen, integrated with embedded instrument panels and a passenger entertainment screen, creates a triple-screen layout. Powered by the HarmonyOS cockpit system, the interior offers a futuristic ambiance.

The range-extended version is powered by a 39 kWh super-hybrid battery from CATL, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 225 km—sufficient for most users to recharge just once a week. Most notably, it supports a 3C fast-charging rate, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in just 15 minutes. This drastically improves charging speed, addressing the common issues of low charging power and long charging times in plug-in hybrid and range-extended vehicles, making it comparable to pure electric models in energy replenishment speed.
Key Differences Between the Two Range-Extended Versions
Both versions come equipped with comprehensive tech features provided by leading manufacturers. The price difference between the Ultra and Max trims primarily stems from additional features like an electric spoiler, automatic doors, and ventilated, heated, and massaging second-row seats. For users who rarely use the rear seats, the Max version should suffice.
The range-extended version addresses the range anxiety of pure electric models.
