Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Officially Launched: The Fastest Four-Door Production Car on Earth
On February 27, Xiaomi held the launch event for the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, with a starting price of 529,900 RMB. As the flagship model of the Xiaomi SU7 series, the SU7 Ultra was developed with the aim of redefining the new standards of luxury cars. The vehicle offers three main color schemes and five different colors: Classic colors – Obsidian Black, Pearl White; Luxury colors – Space Silver, Parrot Green; and Sports colors – Lightning Yellow.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is designed to become the fastest four-door production car in the world. Equipped with Xiaomi’s super triple motor system, it boasts a maximum horsepower of 1,548 PS, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds (excluding start time), and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h. The car is also equipped with a track-grade cooling system and a top-tier braking system, achieving a braking distance of only 30.8 meters from 100 km/h to 0. The SU7 Ultra comes with a Nürburgring-tuned peak chassis system, offering exceptional chassis control and a higher handling limit, allowing the car to be track-ready straight from the factory.
In terms of exterior, based on the Xiaomi SU7 Max, the SU7 Ultra includes an aerodynamic package, with further enlargement of its dimensions: length 5115 mm, width 1970 mm, height 1465 mm, and wheelbase 3000 mm. The front end is equipped with an oversized front splitter and air ducts, along with a U-shaped wind knife, effectively increasing front downforce. The intake grille has been further enlarged, increasing the heat dissipation area by 10%. The rear features an active rear diffuser with two-stage adaptive adjustment, balancing wind resistance and downforce for low energy consumption during regular driving. Additionally, a fixed carbon fiber rear wing has been added, with a wingspan of 1560 mm and a chord length of 240 mm, providing significant downforce at high speeds. Thanks to the new aerodynamic design, the SU7 Ultra achieves a maximum downforce of 285 kg, comparable to supercar-level models.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also makes extensive use of carbon fiber materials, not only enhancing its sporty feel but also effectively reducing weight. The interior features carbon fiber elements such as the backrests of the front seats, the central console trim, and the welcome pedals, all contributing to its athletic atmosphere. Externally, the car is equipped with a 1.7 m² carbon fiber roof, saving 11 kg. In total, the SU7 Ultra uses carbon fiber in 21 areas, covering a total surface area of 5.5 m², with 90% of the carbon fiber surfaces produced using the expensive hot-pressing process, enhancing the texture.
The SU7 Ultra offers a luxurious interior with three color options, a 24K gold carbon fiber logo, a new 25-speaker sound system with hardware upgrades and active noise cancellation, a new electric front trunk with physical buttons, and upgraded seating. The front seats feature massage functions, enhancing comfort for both the driver and passengers. The car’s windows are coated with a new heat-insulating layer, improving sun and heat resistance, while the vanity mirrors are upgraded with adjustable brightness and color temperature in three levels.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra comes standard with Xiaomi HAD smart driving, fully integrating end-to-end large models for a first-class, all-scenario intelligent driving experience, covering everything from driving to parking. As of February 25, the full rollout of Xiaomi HAD began, enabling SU7 Pro and Max models to enjoy the most advanced intelligent driving capabilities.
The car also integrates Xiaomi’s Surge OS, enabling seamless cabin connectivity, an all-ecosystem interface for car, home, and Xiao Ai Assistant. Hardware is the foundation of interactive experiences, with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra equipped with the Snapdragon 8295 flagship chipset platform, and leveraging Surge OS’s powerful heterogeneous compatibility to ensure precise hardware resource management, providing a responsive and smooth experience on the central touchscreen.
In terms of battery, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with a track-grade high-power battery pack, jointly developed with CATL, and the global debut of the CATL Kirin II battery. This is currently one of the most powerful mass-production battery packs, with a maximum discharge rate of 16C, reaching up to 1,330 kW of power, and it can still deliver 800 kW of discharge power when the charge drops to 20%. The charging rate reaches up to 5.2C, enabling 10%-80% charging in just 11 minutes. The CLTC range can reach up to 630 km, combining high performance and long range. The battery utilizes Xiaomi’s CTB integrated battery technology for higher volume efficiency, with dual large-area active cooling for better heat dissipation and enhanced safety.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features the Nürburgring-tuned peak chassis system for better chassis control and a higher handling limit. As a street-legal four-door “race car,” the SU7 Ultra can go directly onto the track from the factory. The suspension system uses dual-chamber air springs paired with high-performance dampers, offering a wider range of spring stiffness and damping adjustment, making it more comfortable in standard mode and more sporty in sports mode. The triple motor system also enables torque vectoring, dynamically adjusting the torque distribution across the three motors at a frequency of 500 times per second, greatly enhancing the car’s handling and stability.
Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra offers an array of optional configurations, including a carbon fiber dual-air channel front hood, 21 carbon fiber components, 21-inch U-shaped forged wheels, exterior mirrors, decals, and wheel arch trims.
