It's Launching Today!! The All-New Mercedes G-Class is Here
Known as the “living fossil of off-road vehicles,” the Mercedes G-Class is a dream car for many. We’ve previously shared updates on the new model, and tonight at 20:00 Beijing time, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Off-Road Night is officially kicking off, featuring the launch of the new G 500, G 63, and the fully electric G 580!
Among them, the highly anticipated electric G has dropped the EQG codename and will be officially known as the Mercedes G580, which certainly adds a more authentic G-Class feel. The G580 features a closed-off grille with a circular LED light strip surrounding it, along with the iconic round headlights on both sides, giving it that unmistakable G-Class identity. However, the rear won’t come with the traditional full-size spare tire, but it will offer an external square storage box as an optional accessory.
In terms of power, the Mercedes G580 is equipped with four electric motors, delivering a maximum output of 588 horsepower and peak torque of 1,164 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The battery capacity is 116kWh, offering a WLTP-rated electric range of 473km. The G580 retains key off-road features like G-turn (on-the-spot turning), G-STEERING (reduced turning radius), G-ROAR (sound simulation), and intelligent three-speed off-roading. Its water fording depth reaches up to 850mm.
