2025 Denza D9 Launch: Equipped with 'God's Eye', Enhancing Overall Vehicle Comfort Features

On the evening of December 26, Denza Automotive officially announced the launch of the 2025 Denza D9, offering 8 models powered by both DM plug-in hybrid and EV pure electric options. As a luxury MPV targeting both family and business use, the 2025 model features upgrades in comfort, driver assistance, powertrain, and chassis systems. The price changes are minimal, which makes this facelift seem very sincere, setting a new benchmark for Chinese new energy luxury MPVs.

Exterior: Compared to the previous model, the biggest change on the new Denza D9 is the addition of the Aurora Radar on the roof, supporting the “God’s Eye” advanced intelligent driving system. The hardware consists of 32 sensors, enabling urban and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and further improving automatic parking functions. This includes the ability to park in extremely narrow parking spaces and even dead-end parking spots, with the added benefit of automated valet parking.

Details: The front retains the large-mouth grille design, now with a mesh-style structure for a visually striking effect. The headlamps are blackened, with integrated lenses, and connected by a full-width daytime running light, effectively enhancing the car’s horizontal visual width. The grille is flanked by vertical triangular air ducts, which integrate LED fog lamps, creating a “fang” shape that adds to the car’s powerful presence. The lower section of the front features a flat, trapezoidal air intake, decorated with a horizontal banner-style structure to add depth to the front.

Side Profile: The roofline is relatively flat, creating a floating roof effect, consistent with the previous model, which follows the common design language for modern MPVs. The body features a continuous waistline design, making the car appear long and elegant while enhancing the side profile’s layering. The electric side-sliding doors are still present, with an added projection-sensing opening function. The wheel arches and side skirts have raised ridges that highlight the muscular look. The wheels are designed with a fine-pitch style, further enhancing the sense of premium quality.

Rear Design: The roof features a large spoiler and a high-mounted brake light. The smoked taillights adopt a full-width design, effectively stretching the rear’s visual width. The license plate frame area is concave, adding dimension to the back. The lower bumper includes a full-width chrome strip, with flat fog lights integrated on either side.

Dimensions: The 2025 Denza D9 measures 5250/1960/1900mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3110mm. It’s positioned as a mid-to-large-size MPV, and compared to the previous model, the vehicle height is reduced by 20mm, with other dimensions unchanged.

Interior: The interior layout remains largely the same, but now includes an entertainment screen for the passenger seat. The dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel, full digital instrument panel, and floating center console screen are all retained. The central control system has been upgraded with Denza’s custom high-performance chip, providing an improved user experience.

The biggest improvement to the 2025 model is the rear seat upgrade. The second-row seats have been upgraded to dual Air Spa zero-gravity seats, wrapped in more comfortable Nappa leather. These seats support electric adjustment, ventilation, heating, full-body massage, and a zero-gravity mode, along with leg rests, side sunshades, small tables, wireless phone charging, and air vents. All seat adjustment functions are conveniently controlled via a small screen integrated into the seat armrest.

The third row has also been upgraded with four-way electric adjustment and ventilation and heating functions, significantly enhancing the comfort and usability of the third-row seating. Notably, the third-row seats also feature a voice recognition zone, enabling an “equal rights” experience for all passengers, with the convenience of interacting with the voice assistant (“Hello, Xiao Di”).

Powertrain: The 2025 Denza D9 offers both plug-in hybrid and electric powertrain options. The hybrid model is powered by BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, with an electric-only range of 200 km, a combined range of 1100 km, and a fuel consumption of 5.85L per 100 km when the battery is depleted. The pure electric version offers a maximum range of 620 km, with a 600 km range version also available. The entire lineup features an 800V platform, supporting a maximum charging power of 166kW, enabling a 243 km charge in just 15 minutes.

Conclusion: While the 2025 Denza D9 is only a mid-cycle facelift, the comprehensive upgrades across all aspects of the vehicle allow it to compete strongly with other models in the same segment, such as the Voyah Dreamer and GAC Trumpchi E9, showcasing excellent product strength.
