2024 Guangzhou Auto Show: Denza Z9 a D-Class Tech Luxury Flagship Sedan Officially Launched
On November 15, at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, Denza officially announced the launch of its luxury flagship sedan, the Denza Z9, built on BYD’s Yi Sanfang platform. The vehicle starts at $48,000, reflecting Denza’s ambitious aspirations in the premium market and heralding a new wave of innovation in the luxury sedan segment.
The pricing for the Denza Z9 aligns with the Denza Z9 GT, but the Z9 GT emphasizes performance and handling, while the Z9 adopts a three-box “sedan” design, exuding a refined luxury aura rather than a sporty vibe.
The Denza Z9 features a distinctive “corona” front design, with a closed, aerodynamic shape resembling a poised predator. The dual-star crown headlights on both sides resemble brilliant stars in the night sky. Its impressive dimensions—5,235 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm—surpass its class rivals, providing ample and comfortable interior space.
A model combining Mercedes-Benz’s luxury craftsmanship and BYD’s leading electric technology, the Denza Z9 showcases exceptional capabilities in design, performance, and intelligent features. Its streamlined body design enhances aerodynamics and conveys a futuristic aesthetic.

The Denza Z9 impresses with a high-performance electric drive system, delivering powerful acceleration and long range. Built on the Yi Sanfang platform, the Z9 features a tri-motor configuration (“1 front, 2 rear”). The all-electric version offers a total motor output of 710 kW and a range of 630 km. The plug-in hybrid version provides a combined output of 640 kW, paired with a 2.0T hybrid-dedicated engine generating 152 kW, achieving a total range of up to 1,100 km.
