Huawei's Final 'Era'! The Maextro's First Model Named 'S800,' Rivaling Maybach and Rolls-Royce?
On November 15th, the Guangzhou Auto Show officially opened, bringing together all four “Era” series under Huawei’s HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive lineup. Among them, the final “Era”—the Maextro, jointly developed with JAC Motors—finally unveiled its mystery to the public.
The Maextro’s first model, the S800, is positioned as a luxury D-class executive sedan. Its front design features brand-new dual “C”-shaped headlights reminiscent of Chanel. The center of the front end showcases a unique “mirror” panel, with split headlights and an illuminated Maextro logo reflecting across its surface. On either side are Huawei’s xPixel intelligent headlights. From the side, the elongated silhouette and fastback design exude the character of an executive sedan, and the model is expected to come with rear-wheel steering capabilities.
The vehicle boasts dimensions befitting a large luxury sedan, with a length exceeding 5.3 meters, a width likely surpassing 2.1 meters, and a wheelbase estimated at around 3.2 meters. The two-tone body design, available in purple and silver, is reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Ghost in its side profile.
The car features four illuminated logos: one on the front, one on the rear, and two on the D-pillars. The door handles depart from traditional retractable designs, instead adopting hollowed-out handles with a starlight ambient lighting effect. The car doors can be opened via sensor activation and are equipped with power door mechanisms and ground projection lights, adding to the model’s opulence.
The rear design draws inspiration from the STELATO S9 but introduces numerous enhancements to the taillights, which now exhibit a 3D appearance. The lighting elements are concealed behind glass, creating a starlit effect on all sides.
On the technology front, the Maextro S800 is equipped with the latest version of Huawei’s ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, offering advanced driver assistance features. Inside the cabin, the vehicle provides seamless smart interaction, featuring high-resolution instrument and multimedia displays for an enhanced entertainment and daily usage experience.
Previously leaked interior images reveal a predominantly light-tone design, with a floating full LCD instrument panel. The center console and front passenger entertainment screens are integrated into a unified display. The vehicle uses a column shifter, while the secondary dashboard houses a wireless charging panel for smartphones and crystal-finished control knobs. Seat controls are located on the door panels, likely supporting ventilation, heating, and massage functions.

As the most premium brand in the “Era” series, the Maextro S800 is positioned as a 1-million-yuan executive sedan. This pricing strategy reflects Huawei’s confidence in the S800’s competitiveness in the high-end market, drawing from the success of models like the AITO series. It directly targets traditional luxury models like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class/Maybach S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8.
With its distinctive design, high-end positioning, and focus on competing directly with established luxury brands, the Maextro S800 aims to capture market share in the luxury NEV segment. Leveraging the unique strengths of each “Era” series model, Huawei is solidifying its presence in the premium NEV market. What do you think—can the Maextro S800 take on these traditional luxury giants and emerge victorious?
